2023 was a record-breaking year for Project Purple, especially for our patient assistance programs. Project Purple is happy to announce that we have been able to allocate $400,000 to our programs this year. Thanks to our fundraisers, we will be able to help more families than ever in the new year!
This year, Project Purple added $50,000 to our Patient Financial Aid (PFA) fund. This brings us up to a total of $200,000 awarded in 2023 to patients in need. Because of our fundraisers’ dedication to the cause, 263 families received financial aid through our PFA program this year, setting a new record for the number of families assisted through financial aid. Thanks to your efforts, more families than ever will be able to receive the help they need in order to continue their fight against pancreatic cancer. Meanwhile, Project Purple’s partnership with Nutré Meals has given more patients and families access to healthy and nutritious meals than ever before with $200,000 allocated to providing patients with healthy and nutritious meals. To launch this partnership, Project Purple pledged $100,000 to provide meals to patients through Nutré, a meal prep subscription service. The team at Nutré pledged to match our $100,000. The program has been able to reach families across the New England area, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. We are actively seeking patients living in those areas and their families interested in receiving these meals. If you are a patient or caregiver interested in receiving the benefits of this program, please click here to see if you are eligible.
Thank you so much to all those who have supported Project Purple this year; you truly help make a difference in the fight against pancreatic cancer! Programs like our PFA and Nutre programs would not be possible without your continued support and dedication to the cause. Thanks to your generosity this year, more families will be able to get access to the care they need. About Our Patient Financial Aid Program
At Project Purple, we know that a pancreatic cancer diagnosis can impact more than just your health. We are here to help support patients through their journeys in any way we can. Our PFA program is designed to help patients with medical and everyday living expenses so patients can focus on what matters most: the fight against this disease. Since its inception in 2012, the program has paid an excess of over $1,000,000 to help more than 1,300 patients cover medical bills, utilities, and housing expenses. We have never turned away a qualified patient. If you or a loved one is battling pancreatic cancer, please visit our Patient Financial Aid webpage for more information and to learn how to apply for the program.
About Our Nutrition Assistance Program
This year, Project Purple and Nutré Meals unveiled a new partnership that will help patients receive the right kind of food to help fuel their fight against pancreatic cancer. Now, patients and their families that are located in the New England and Tri-State Area have access to two or four-month subscriptions to help alleviate some of the financial, emotional, and physical burdens of cooking. All patients have to do is place their meal orders on Nutré’s website and they will have healthy, nutritious meals delivered to their door. Families have access to meals that cover all dietary restrictions including gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, diabetic-friendly, low-sodium, low-carb, low-calorie, and vegetarian meal plans. If you or a loved one is battling pancreatic cancer and needs access to quality nutrition, please visit our Nutrition Assistance Program webpage for more information and to learn how to apply for the program.
