About The Charity Pickleball Classic
From seasoned players to those new to the game, the Project Purple Charity Pickleball Classic welcomes any and every skill level. This year, we will be hosting our third tournament at the Pickle Spot! No matter what level of experience you have, there is no doubt you are in for an exciting day contributing to a world without pancreatic cancer.
The Pickle Spot is a committed pickleball facility in Orange, CT which includes 5 brand-new cushioned indoor pickleball courts, controlled climate and acoustics, as well as men’s and women’s locker rooms! This will make for a perfect event you won’t want to miss out on.
“What makes this tournament so cool is the unique community we can connect with. Pickleball has become such a popular sport and we really got to make some awesome connections and memories last year,” DaCosta continued, “The bar is raised this year and we can’t wait to add to our community and fuel our mission.”
All divisions will be made up of teams of two entering as men’s, women’s, or mixed. Divisions will also be separated based on skill level in order to keep the game fair and the competition fun! To ensure placement in the right division, we will provide a self-rating guide that your team will need to fill out before the day of the event. Our divisions will then be divided into amateur and advanced tiers. Sign up with a friend, spouse, or family member and make some new connections with this amazing community here at Project Purple.
While you are driving your ball into your opponent’s backcourt, food trucks will be driving up to provide everyone with some yummy food and treats!
Project Purple is looking for businesses to support this year’s pickleball event through sponsorships. “Sponsoring events like this is a great way for businesses to grow their audience. It provides an opportunity to market to a community that is compassionate and motivated to make a difference.” DaCosta noted. “Plus, it’s an opportunity for businesses to make an impact themselves.”

Both new grant announcements are focused on early detection of pancreatic cancer.
Additionally, the nonprofit has provided more than $1.15 million in financial aid to help patients cover medical bills, utilities, and housing costs while undergoing treatment. Recently, the organization began providing freshly prepared meals to patients and their families through its Nutrition Assistance Program.
