Project Purple Pretzel Run Presented by Strive2Move
Project Purple is excited to host our 2024 Pretzel Run, presented by Strive2Move. This 5k race will take place in Cranford, New Jersey on July 14th at the beautiful Nomahegan Park. Participants will run or walk this scenic route alongside beautiful ponds and morning wildlife on this flat 3.1-mile course. The start time for the race is at 8:30 am. After crossing the finish line, runners and walkers will receive a one-of-a-kind finisher medal and a yummy pretzel! Not a fan of running? That’s no problem, as this event is not just for experienced runners but also for those who want to walk in support of this cause. The course has no hills and water is provided for all runners and walkers around the halfway point!

Honoring Jordan Shackelford
This race is in honor of Jordan Shackelford, a dear friend of Project Purple Ambassador, Erin Peters. Jordan passed away in November of 2022 after three months of being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was a loving husband and father of three little girls. Erin wants to run not only in memory of Jordan but for all who have lost a loved one to pancreatic cancer.
This isn’t the first time Erin has honored Jordan with Project Purple. She raised nearly $12,000 in honor of Jordan with her team representing Project Purple in the 2023 Chicago Marathon. “While I’m proud of past accomplishments, it’s clear that more needs to be done,” says Erin. With her involvement in the Project Purple Pretzel Run, she will continue to raise awareness and contribute to the fight to end pancreatic cancer!

Whether you are an avid runner, a beginner to running, or just want to walk and support your loved ones, this course is the perfect fit for you. You can sign up as an individual by clicking on the website link or create a team and sign up as a power group! Either way, your involvement is so important in the contribution to our mission here at Project Purple. We also provide a sponsorship guide and form that has other sponsor opportunities such as photo, registration, table exhibit, water station, bib, aid station, and mile marker.
