Project Purple is excited to host our first-ever cold plunge event! This event is taking place on World Pancreatic Cancer Day, November 21st, 2024. This day is dedicated to spreading awareness about Pancreatic Cancer, sharing the importance of early detection, and knowing the signs and symptoms.
For this event, we will be teaming up with Lauren and the Ice Cold Club. They will give an education session to everyone on the benefits of cold plunging, followed by breathing exercises to help ground our bodies and calm any nerves before plunging. Finally, each group will participate in a cold plunge for a few minutes, guided by a coach.
It is estimated that 66,440 people will be diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2024. The current 5-year survival rate is 13%. The Project Purple Cold Plunge for Pancreatic Cancer event aims to raise awareness and further the efforts in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
